11.09 (above) I've just noticed
this.
11.10 (below) This is the strange artefact I've been
wondering about since I spotted its glinting from afar. It grabbed my
attention. (Apologies to landscape survey purists.)
I'm
wondering... is it a solar panel which powers some network rail data logger?
Certainly not the trains! Or - and this is an intriguing possibility - is it
transmitting an update on the train status to ET? - The next train connecting
Lewes to Alpha Centauri has been delayed by 5 minutes. |

3 years later:-
speaking of the next train to Alpha Centauri (above) that reminds me - I
wrote a book review about a book with that very same destination in its title.
See below for more details. | |
book review - Murder on the
Alpha Centauri Express
January
3, 2024 - like a lot of other writers I've forgotten what I was supposed to be
writing during the recent holiday period and instead indulged myself reading
other people's books.
In the best traditions of writers avoiding
writing what they had planned to do I decided this morning instead to begin by
writing a review of a book I enjoyed recently - Murder on the Alpha Centauri Express
by Steve Downes.
I rarely write reviews and when I have done - did them anonymously. But
what the heck? It was easier than reconnecting to my work in progress. here's a link to my
